The 5 Components to a Strong, Healthy, Sexy Looking Body

I want to start this post with a HUGE thank you! Thank you EVERYONE who has helped me and The North Dallas Boot Camp build and grow. A very special thanks to Kim Hull of Seven Aspens and everyone from Powerplay Fitness. If you're wondering who EVERYONE else is? That's EVERYONE I know, literally! THANK YOU!

Now to the juicy stuff!!

I like to teach the 80/20 rule. The 80/20 rule means that 80% of your life, of your time, make healthy NUTRITIOUS food choices, exercise CONSISTENTLY and EFFECTIVELY and rest properly. What you decide to do with the other 20% is your business! Now think about it, if you live the 80/20 rule CONSISTENTLY, you, your body and your health will be able to "afford" the 20% of the "bad stuff". Enjoy wine? Drink it. Like chocolate and peanut butter together? (MY FAVORITE!) Eat it! Like to party hardy and get 2 hours of sleep here and there? Go out! No one is perfect! Always remember to remember...live the 80/20 rule!

Now living the 80/20 CONSISTENTLY involves 5 components of health & fitness that I beleive are a must to be healthy, feel strong and look sexy! Here they are in order of priority...

1. KEEP A POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE

Do things and think things that make you feel good! Keep that feeling of feeling good and stay positive. Have a positive out look on everything you do. If your not happy, then what is all this (life) for? I think it's also important not to forget about the negative. Realize the negative, learn from it and pull out the positive from it and dwell on that, not the negative. Remember...with every negative, there's a positive. Otherwise there wouldn't be a negative right?

2. NUTRITION, NUTRITION, NUTRITION

You cannot, allow me to repeat, CANNOT change with out proper nutrition. You cannot look and feel healthy on the outside if your not healthy on the inside. Always remember "you are what you eat", literally! You literally have a new body about every 2 years. If your filling your body with crappy energy (food), I can guarantee you will look and feel crappy too. You wouldn't put regular unleaded in your Ferrari if your tank was empty would you? Get it? Don't forget that good nutrition means whole, natural unprocessed QUALITY foods!

3. YOUR FLEXIBILITY SYSTEM

In order to be strong and look sexy you need a healthy flexibility system. Include dynamic and static stretching in all your workouts. Take a Yoga class, stretch in the mornings and/or before you go to bed. Make stretching a part of your exercise routine. And I don't mean take 30 seconds to wave your arms around or bending 2 or 3 times over, I mean REALLY practice good stretching techniques. Remember your muscles can't effectively grow and repair if they and the rest of your body are not somewhat flexible. Which brings us to...

4. YOUR MUSCULATURE SYSTEM

Healthy, strong muscle tissue (lean mass) is what shapes the body into that nice lean and attractive figure. Everyone dwells and always says "I want to lose weight", let's change that and say "I want to change my body composition" (build good lean mass and lower your body fat percentage). If you have said "I need to change this fat on me into muscle..", you are in the wrong state of mind...not possible! THEY ARE 2 TOTALLY DIFFERENT KINDS OF TISSUE! You can't change your hair into your finger nails can you? Strength training effectively builds lean mass, work your anaerobic system!

5. YOUR CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM

Now I shouldn't have to explain this too much. Exercising your aerobic system is important for heart health, keeping that lean attractive body and stimulating your cardiovascular system. Along with many other health benefits. Now, the stronger your aerobic system the stronger you are! Why? Because the more oxygen the body is able to use efficiently, the stronger all the other systems are. I hope you see now how all this works together!

These are the 5 components to a healthy, strong feeling and sexy looking body. Practice, include and live these 5 components 80% of your life, and I PROMISE not only will your health and body improve, but your quality of life will be amazing and happy! After all (and I know that I'm right on this one), what do we all really want? That's to be happy and feel good! It's the "domino effect!"

Just one more thing...to all of those who are thin, or at a healthy weight...JUST BECAUSE YOUR "SKINNY" DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE HEALTHY!!!

Thanks again everyone and I will catch you on the flip side.....

Work Hard, Have Fun, Live Well

I truly believe in "Karma" and think that the more you give positively to others, and pass on positive energy in any form or fashion, the more you will receive back! What better way to to give AND stay on a healthy track than to register and participate in and ACTIVE fund raiser!

The North Dallas Boot Camp would like to invite you to run in either of these upcoming events!

Heels & Hills Marathon

The Seton Soles 2nd Annual Walk/Run

I myself will be registering for both of these events and would love to again, get a team together and race with me! The Big D Climb was a blast and everyone felt great! Please let me know if you have registered!! Hope to see you out there!

Come support a great cause!

"I Feel Alive Again!"

started The North Dallas Boot Camp with big hopes of success and growth. April first was the start of Session VI, and again, I am happy to say that NDBootCamp has almost 25 new participants!!!!

I want everyone to know that I am all ready having a blast! Each class has it’s own unique group, and they are some of the nicest, sweetest hard working individuals! Some tell me they are “addicted to The North Dallas Boot Camp“, & even tell me that they “finally feel alive again!” This BY FAR is my favorite testimony yet!!

That is my job, that is what I do, that is why I’m here! I encourage ANYONE who is reading this to please come check out a class. If non of the times work, call me and I will do my best to find a time to help you!
